“We the citizens of India make a pledge to uphold the ideals of unity, safety and make a promise that we will spread the message to our fellow Indians to breathe the morals of unity, tolerance, fraternity marking a nation of a value and a dream.”
Above pledge was uttered by all the teachers and students of Educare International School to commemorate National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) on 31/10/2023, Tuesday. This day falls on the occasion of birthday of the “Iron Man of India”, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who took an active role in uniting the princely states of India just after the independence. The day also marks the assassination of former Indian Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, and is celebrated as the National Pledge Day (Rashtriya Sankalp Dibas) to prevent all types of threats to our nation, external or internal.
Beside the pledge-taking ceremony, our students also participated in Run for Unity program and an intra-school debate about uniting the people of India.
