“Golden treasures hang from trees so grand,
In summer’s warmth, by nature’s hand.
Sweet nectar flows from each juicy strand,
The mango reigns, the king of the land.”
In 1987, the National Horticulture Board of India came up with the idea of organizing an International Mango Festival with the aim to promote the fruit. This is how the idea of dedicating a day for mangoes came up and later it turned into an annual celebration.
Today, on 04/07/2024 (Thursday), Educare International School embraced the vibrant spirit of Mango Day! Our campus buzzed with excitement as students and teachers alike indulged in activities dedicated to the king of fruits.
Our students and teachers were dressed in a Mango Appreciation Theme. We kicked off the celebration with a special assembly where students learnt about the cultural and nutritional significance of mangoes. Fascinating facts were presented about the different types of mangoes, their growth process, and their benefits to our health. Then came the celebration of the King of Fruits in a feast of mangoes.
